LodgeNet and Sharp to bring HDTV to hotels

Soon you will be able to watch crystal-clear HDTV in hotels thanks to LodgeNet and Sharp. LodgeNet Entertainment Corporation, a world leader in interactive TV and broadband solutions to hotels, and Sharp Electronics Corporation announced their intention to integrate Sharp AQUOS LC-TV displays with LodgeNet's sigNETure TV-HD system for high-definition free-to-guest and video-on-demand (VOD) services.

As part of the integration effort, Sharp will also support Pro:Idiom premium content copy protection technology that will enable Sharp AQUOS LC-TVs to display HD premium satellite and VOD entertainment licensed by satellite programmers and movie studios that have accepted the Pro:Idiom security standard.
