Cox Teams Up With TiVo

Cox Communications has entered into an agreement with TiVo Inc. to make the company's leading DVR and interactive advertising service available to select Cox subscribers.

TiVo has agreed to customize its cable software for use on compatible Cox DVR set-top-boxes. With the downloadable software, Cox can deliver the TiVo® service to subscribers' homes without requiring them to replace existing DVR boxes or schedule install appointments. Launched in select Cox markets in the first half of 2007, the service will allow current Cox DVR customers who want to enjoy the award-winning TiVo service to quickly and easily add the benefits of TiVo to their DVR subscription.

Cox Digital Cable customers with DVR service who choose to add TiVo to their Cox subscription will enjoy the popular TiVo user interface as well as the features of Cox's broadband network like On DEMAND and High Definition service, with exclusive TiVo features like Season PassT recordings, WishList® searches and the recently announced TiVo KidZone. KidZone helps parents safeguard their kids from video content while also assisting them in discovering and choosing great educational and age-appropriate shows.
