Both XM & Sirius Increase Their Subscribers

As we enter the second half of 2006, Sirius and XM's subscriber numbers show that satellite radio continues to gain in popularity.

XM Satellite Radio has added more than 398,000 new net subscribers during the second quarter of 2006 for a total of more than 6.89 million subscribers. Exclusive programming to launch on XM this September includes the much-anticipated Oprah & Friends channel, featuring regular segments by popular personalities from "The Oprah Winfrey Show," and an original weekly reality radio show with Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King.

Sirius' subscriber base increased by 158 percent when compared to a year ago, bringing their total to 4,678,207 subscribers. The company added 600,460 net subscribers during the second quarter of 2006, or 64 percent above last year's second quarter net subscriber additions of approximately 366,000.
