Once you have located your dead pixels, you might be able to save yourself some headaches and fix the LCD yourself. If your pixels are truly dead, you may be able to return it to the manufacturer. To do so, you'll have to check with the manufacturer to see if your LCD meets their criteria, which is typically based on the number of dead pixels and how they are clustered together.
