Yesterday, Verizon filed lawsuits charging All Star Vacations and Marketing Group of Miami, Fla., Travel and Tours Marketing of Orlando, Fla. and Cambridge Marketing and Financial Services of Deland, Fla. of illegal solicitation.
Verizon says these companies used auto dialers and prerecorded messages to contact Verizon customers. It is against federal rules for telemarketers to use these methods to call any phone where it costs the phone subscriber money to receive the phone call; cell phones fall into this category. ZDnet has more information about Verizon's lawsuits on their Web site.
