BellSouth to take $30m charge for cutting jobs

Due to BellSouth's management job cuts in the first quarter, BellSouth took a charge of $30 million. According to the article BellSouth to take job cuts charge, BellSouth expects to be charged a total of $100 million in 2006 or planned job cuts. BellSouth actually reduced the number of job cuts planned from 1500 to 1300 after BellSouth's merger with AT&T was announced last month.
