Cablevision COO says Verizon is not competitive

« Resource for consumer electronics | Main | Moving 101: Buying a Home »

At the NCTA show on Tuesday, Cablevision COO Tom Rutledge reaffirmed the sentiment that I wrote about in an earlier post today, that telecom's IPTV offerings are not a current threat to cable television providers. Rutledge is quoted by Carol Wilson in the article NCTA: Cablevision exec says Verizon not competitive as saying Cablevision is actually taking customers away from Verizon in areas where Verizon's FiOS technology has been deployed. Rutledge said that "the volume of business we are taking from them is so much greater than what they are even projecting to take from us. It's an uneconomic proposition on their part."
