According to an article recently published in Advertising Age, AT&T plans to do away with the Cingular brand by 2007. Although $4 billion was spent to make Cingular a household name, AT&T plans to rename its wireless brand AT&T Wireless. Several advertising agency executives believes that the name change is a bad move, as the name AT&T wireless does not communicate the youthfulness of the Cingular brand.
