Embarq spin-off to be completed May 17, 2006

According to a Sprint Nextel press release, Sprint Nextel will complete the spin-off of its local communication business as of May 17. The company, to be called Embarq Corporation, is expected to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol "EQ."
