Mass-marketing fraud arrests

More than 500 people have been arrested recently for mass-marketing fraud. Since March 1, 2005, police in countries across North America, South America and Europe participating in "Operation Global Con" have uncovered a number of scams and have arrested 565 people to date. Almost three million people a year fall victim to mass-marketing fraud that can be carried out through the Internet, by telemarketers and through mass mailings.
