Charter Communications, Inc. provides television, telephone and Internet services in 27 states to 5.5 million customers, as of July 2011. Charter Communications provides Internet connection speeds of 20 Mbps to customers, while some locations have access to speeds up to 60 Mbps. According to their website, "At the core of our mission is to provide value to our customers." Part of this value includes "...continually improving customer care through the commitment of our more than 16,000 employees nationwide."

Customer Service

According to the Charter Communications' website, this company is devoted to providing their customers with a good experience. Charter considers customer support and help services an integral part of this. Customers who have issues with their Internet connection, modems, email accounts or security software have access to professional help via the Charter web page and live customer service agents. Customer service agents are available through online chat, a toll-free phone number and offices local to customers.

Accessing Online Help Resources

To access Charter Communication's online Internet help services, navigate to the Charter Communications website at www.charter.com. Click the Internet tab, located at the top left of your screen, just below the Charter logo. Click the Internet Help link, located below the Support tab on the upper left of your screen. From here, you can navigate to a Topics tab; Equipment tab, User Guides a Troubleshooting Tab; a FAQ tab or an Online Security Tab.

Online Help Tab Descriptions

The Topics tab includes information on topics such as home networking, Internet browsers or operating systems. The Equipment, User Guides & Diagrams tab includes information on the different modems and routers Charter customers use. The Troubleshooting tab provides customers with information on how to troubleshoot modems, Internet and email issues. The FAQ page includes information on email, Internet and security options Charter Communications uses. The Security tab provides information on Internet safety, how to use the Charter security suite and what to do if you have a security problem.

Accessing Live Help

To access Internet help from a live Charter Communications employee, navigate to the Charter website at www.charter.com. Click on the Contact Us link, located at the top right of your browser window. Locate the Chat Live with Customer Care section, located about halfway down your browser window. Click on the Internet Help link. Provide the required information in the pop-up window, such as your name, email address and phone number. Click the Submit button. A chat pop-up window will appear, allowing you to talk with a live customer service representative.
