Dish DVR FAQs

Two different standard definition DVR options are available from Dish. The Duo DVR 625 records standard-definition television. With this DVR, you can watch two different programs on different TVs, or you can watch a program on one TV while recording another program. The Solo DVR 512 is the other standard-definition DVR available from Dish. With this DVR, you can record standard-definition television while watching another program at the same time.

Three HD DVRs are available from Dish Network. The ViP 922 SlingLoaded DVR records on two TVs at once, one HD and one standard definition. The Sling technology allows you to watch your recorded programming from your mobile device or computer, as well. The Duo DVR ViP 772k records HD television on one TV and standard-definition TV on another. The Solo DVR ViP 612 records HD TV on one television. The display resolutions with the HD DVRs range from 480i to 1080p.

When watching TV with a Dish DVR, all of the controls for the DVR are on your Dish remote. If you are watching TV and want to temporarily stop watching the program, hit the "pause" button on your remote. To start the program again after pausing, press the "play" button on your remote. Skip back 10 seconds at a time by pressing the "skip back" button, and skip forward 30 seconds at a time by pressing the "skip forward" button.

To record a program you are currently watching on a Dish DVR, press "record" on your remote. Then press "OK" to confirm that you'd like to begin recording that program. To schedule a future recording, press "guide." Search through the guide, find the program, wait until it is highlighted and then press "select." From there, you can record all episodes of that program, new episodes or one episode.
