America Online (aol.com) offers a 2-month free trial membership for its dial-up Internet service. Membership includes AOL's safety and security tools and access to exclusive content, including AOL Games, Sports, Radio, News and Personals. There is no minimum commitment so you can cancel the service at any time. The cost for service is $24 a month after the free trial expires.

PeoplePC (peoplepc.com) is a discount Internet service provider that allows you to try its dial-up Internet service free for 30 days; the monthly rate is $11 after the free trial. No credit card is required to start a free trial with PeoplePC. Some of the features of PeoplePC include its in-page ad blocking, virus blocker and up to four email addresses that can be accessed by Web mail anywhere with an Internet connection. PeoplePC claims that its Accelerator technology makes Internet surfing up to five times faster than regular dial-up service.

Juno (juno.com) lets users surf the Internet for up to 10 hours a month for free with its ad-supported Internet service. At the time of publication, this offer never expires, but users can upgrade to ad-free Internet access for $11 per month or to its faster Juno Turbo service for $15 per month. Juno is available for both Windows and Mac users in over 6,500 cities across the United States and Canada.

NetZero is very similar to Juno in that it provides free ad-supported access to its Internet service. However, you can only use NetZero for up to 10 hours per month on a free account. At the time of publication, upgrading the account to unlimited access costs $10 per month for its Platinum Internet service or $15 for NetZero HiSpeed.
