How to Make a Google Call on an HTC Evo Phone

by Amanda Johnson, Demand Media

The HTC Evo phone is a fully-functional smart phone that is technologically-advanced and capable of providing quality HD movies and Wi-Fi Internet. The Evo uses a Google Android operating system. Google's applications for Android phones are endless. From games to making free calls with Google Voice, the HTC Evo will keep you connected to first class entertainment, family and friends. Google Voice allows you to make free calls without using your minutes from your wireless provider. You can also get voice mails sent to you in the form of an email or SMS message. You can easily make a Google call using your HTC Evo phone.

Step 1

Download the Google Voice application if it is not already on your phone. Locate the app store and search for Google Voice. Install it to your phone.

Step 2

Go to the Google Mobile website from your Evo phone if you are unsure about where the app is located. Select "Download from the App Store."

Step 3

Complete the registration process. You will need to provide your Google account log in information. You will be given your personal Google Voice phone number.

Step 4

Dial the number of the person you would like to call. Choose "Call with Google Voice," if you have set up your phone to ask you how to make calls. If you have set your phone to use Google Voice automatically, you do not need to do anything else.

Step 5

Talk on the device as you would with any mobile phone. Google Voice is a free service in most cases. If it is not a free call, Google will tell you how much the call is and how much your Google Account will be charged. For instance, if it is a toll or international call, you will be charged.
