NetZero offers both dial-up and DSL Internet services in many plan options. DSL Internet from NetZero provides speeds as much as 100 times faster than dial-up service. To use DSL, NetZero will travel through a phone line, but it won't interfere with phone service.
NetZero DSL
The NetZero broadband DSL service has download speeds up to 6 Mbps, which means web pages load in seconds. This service is always on, meaning customers can access the Internet any time, even while talking on their home phone; NetZero's DSL doesn't interfere with phone use. NetZero offers a free dial-up Internet account as a backup in case customers need it.
Features
Customers who subscribe to NetZero DSL plans receive several features with the monthly fee for their Internet service. These features include a modem and firewall, Norton AntiVirus Online services, MegaMail email with spam and virus protection, pop-up blocker, backup dial-up account and free live technical support all day, seven days a week. The purpose of these features is to help keep your Internet running smoothly, to add convenience and to protect your computer.
Requirements
To receive NetZero DSL, your operating system and computer hardware must meet certain minimum requirements. Requirements differ based upon systems, but basic requirements typically include a process operating at a minimum speed requirement, a certain amount of available RAM, some free hard disk space and a USB port or Ethernet Network Interface Card. CD or DVD-ROM drives may also be necessary, depending upon the system. More information about specifics for different systems is available at NetZero's website.
Availability and Pricing
NetZero DSL is not available to customers in all locations, so it is necessary to check for availability. To do so, customers can enter their phone numbers into NetZero's website to see if services are available for their area. Once you establish that NetZero DSL is available, pricing information for the Internet service plans is available through the NetZero website. Typically, the faster the download speed the more expensive the monthly fee will be for that plan.
