There are numerous advantages for AT&T; customers who opt to pay their Internet bill online. It takes a few short minutes to register an account on the AT&T; website, which then makes it possible to make a payment with a few clicks of the mouse. Online payments eliminate paper waste and allow customers to immediately access their account activity and information; they also provide alternative options to writing and mailing checks.

Step 1

Determine whether to set up recurring automatic online payments, or just make a one-time payment. Customers can also maintain additional control by using the "View-N-Pay" option to log in to the account and review the details before authorizing a payment.

Step 2

Determine whether to use a credit card to pay online, or a checking account. All major credit cards are accepted. To pay from a checking account, use the routing numbers located on the bottom of a check from that account. There is no charge for either of these options.

Step 3

Sign in to make a payment on the AT&T; website (http://www.att.com/accounts/). Existing online users sign in using a phone number and password. New users must first create an online account and choose a password by visiting the First Time Users page (https://www.customerservice.att.com/signin/validate_form.jsp) and follow a few simple registration steps. Registering an account is an important security measure that protects the privacy of online customers.

Step 4

Once logged in, customers indicate the payment option and enter credit card or checking account information. Once a payment method is entered, the website saves this information for future payments but information and options can also be altered by the customer at any time.

Step 5

Other options include paying by phone. With a credit card handy call 1-800-222-0300. Customers who wish to pay in person can also call this number to find a nearby store. To pay by mail, send a check or money order with account information to: AT&T;, P.O. Box 8212, Aurora, IL 60572-8212.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try to pay bills a few days early to avoid late charges if problems arise.
  • Paying by mail is available only for customers who receive a paper statement. It takes 7-10 business days for bills paid through the mail to process.
