In addition to digital cable television and high-speed Internet, Time Warner Cable offers Digital Home Phone plans. Several calling plans and optional features are available to customers, as well as bundle plans combining one of more Time Warner Cable services. Any person switching to Time Warner Cable is also able to keep their current phone number and existing phone.

Calling Plans

Digital Home Phone Unlimited Local monthly plans offer unlimited calling within a local calling area and per minute billing for non-local calls. Some regions in the United States have additional calling plans. For example, the Digital Home Phone Unlimited Carolinas plan offers a reduced local rate for calling minutes outside South and North Carolina. Time Warner Cable's Digital Home Phone Nationwide plan offers a flat monthly rate with unlimited calls within the country.

Calling Features

Features of monthly plans include technical support, call waiting, call forwarding, speed dialing, three-way calling and caller ID. Customers' addresses are also transmitted automatically to emergency services with the Enhanced 911 feature. Customers can also see the number calling their phone while watching television if they are also subscribed to Time Warner Cable's Digital Cable. Customers can also block unwanted calls with the call reject service, block calls that incur additional charges and withhold their phone number when placing calls.

Extras

In addition to a monthly plan, Time Warner Cable customers can subscribe to extra features at a monthly fee. Extras include International OnePrice, a flat rate for international calls. Calling rates vary depending on the country. As of May 2011, 1,000 minutes are included in the plan. Additional optional features include voicemail, private telephone listing and a second telephone line. Customers can access the Internet using their primary phone line when subscribed to a Time Warner Cable Internet plan.

Additional Services

Time Warner Cable Digital Phone customers have access to a number of online services. For example, by logging on to Time Warner Cable's website, customers can view their complete call history. Settings for voicemail and other phone features, including caller ID and distinctive rings for known and unknown phone numbers, can also be updated online. If the voicemail option has been purchased, customers can also hear messages online. Telephone plans can also be bundled with Internet and cable plans.
