20 of the Best Places to Go After Dark in Phoenix

When you're looking for the perfect place to spend a night out on the town, you may be surprised at the number of high-quality offerings in the Phoenix area. With a nightlife culture to rival that of many larger and more high-profile cities, Phoenix is home to a host of clubs, bars and interesting venues for a wealth of fun after the sun sets.

  1. The Lost Leaf– Art, music and beer. What more can you ask for? Come early as it gets louder and more crowded as the night wears on. They are open until 2 am and they have outdoor seating if the inside area becomes too crowded for your liking. The best nights to go are Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
  2. FEZ – FEZ is open during the daytime hours, but they offer live music after the sun goes down and the clientele changes. They’ve got a great happy hour from 4 to 6 pm and it repeats at 10 until closing 7 days a week. Every 1st Friday of the month is a special celebration. On Wednesdays, stop by for the weekly Kegger. Check the website to find out about the special drink nights and the signature food and wine events.
  3. SideBar - Described by a patron as “upscale, come-as-you-are” SideBar offers more than forty-five beers, over forty wines in addition to a diverse assortment of liquors, some of which will be known to you and some that you’ve yet to encounter. If you enjoy cocktails, you must give SideBar a try.
  4. Bar Smith – If you're a fan of hip hop who loves to dance the night away under the stars, then come visit the only open rooftop dance floor in Phoenix. If you don’t want to dance on the roof, there’s always the inside where house music reigns supreme. Catering to those twenty-one and older, get your dance on all nights from 9 pm to 2 am.

  6. Film Bar - If you enjoy independent & foreign films and craft beers or wine, you’ll love this place. It’s a microcinema with only seventy seats, so it’s cozy and one of the most unique concepts in Phoenix.
  7. Xhale Hookah Lounge– Grab a bunch of your buddies and go hang out at Xhale for some laid back fun. There's music and dancing for those who aren't hookah aficionados, though the place may be a little foggy for non-smokers' tastes.
  8. LMAO Phoenix – When it comes to fun, there's little that can compete with a night of stand-up comedy and side-splitting laughter. Comedy fans will truly enjoy this establishment. There’s a free show on Monday night if you want to give it a try before you truly commit, but there are events featuring nationally touring big names from time to time.
  9. The Ice House Tavern – Music, darts, and oh yes! Hockey. The Ice House Tavern has a full view of the action at the Arcadia Ice Rink. They feature great local bands and you can watch sports on the HD monitors. If you enjoy craft beers dive bars and a good time, bring your buddies over to the Ice House Tavern.
