Busy schedules and family responsibilities are usually the reasons many of us do not have time for our dogs. We sometimes forget that owning a dog requires a little more effort than just feeding and having an adequate place for it to use the bathroom.

With that being said, planning a moderate amount of activities for your dog during the week will not only help their health but they will genuinely appreciate it.

Here are a few dog-friendly activities for you and your pet:

Dog Parks
More and more cities are supporting the construction of dog parks in the area. Parks usually include play areas that have slides and other objects that are perfect for dogs. Within the parks are also water areas where your dog can hydrate themselves after a long day of playing. Some parks have designated areas for smaller dogs so they can be separated or kept out of the way of the bigger dogs at play. Just remember to bring a plastic bag to clean up after your dog so that everyone is happy.

Dog Bars
Do you love drinking beer and dogs? Why not accomplish both by taking your dog to a doggy bar. These bars are slowly popping up in major cities around the country. A diverse beer selection is usually the common theme among these bars. Patios or a nice size backyard is available for your dog where you can drink and socialize with your dog. This is great for meeting new dog lovers in your area while having the ability to let your dog run free. The most common dog amenities are also available.

Dog Races
Do you love running 5k and 10k races? Why not combine both by running a race with your dog! If you do enough searching online, the fine print will usually inform you if dogs are prohibited during the race. Training with your dog beforehand will ensure a smoother race with your dog.

These are only a few activities that you can do with your dog. Your dog will enjoy every minute of these activities and they will appreciate the time spent with you!
