Half of the year has quickly passed and the 4th of July is here. Do you have a place picked out to celebrate the holiday, shoot fireworks and barbeque with your family? Are you under the gun with making plans last minute? Don’t fret! Here are some Inexpensive destinations for you and your family to enjoy:

Beaches

America’s favorite pastime is and always has been lounging around in the sand alongside the crystal blue ocean. Public beaches are usually free of charge and access to showers and bathrooms are readily available. Surfing, boogie boarding, parasailing, jet skiing, and snorkeling are a few activities that are available to the public. If adrenaline pumping activities are not your thing, beach chairs and umbrellas are usually available to rent at most beaches. Do you like to relax with the ocean breeze in your hair and the motion of the ocean beneath you? Sailboats, day cruise ships, high powered speedboats, and yachts are definitely some water activities each person should experience sometime in their life. Whether you live close to the east coast, west coast or the gulf, a beach destination should be at the top of your list!

Lakes and Rivers

Can’t make it to a beach this 4th? Lakes and rivers can be easily found in most states around the country. Lakes are great for jet skiing, water skiing, boating, fishing, and swimming. If you are lucky to have a river near you then you are certainly in for a treat. River rafting is a thrilling adventure if you are the extreme type of person. There are different levels of rapids so be sure to verify which one you are most comfortable riding down. If the river you have access to has no extreme rapids, tubing or floating the river is always fun with a big group of friends. The best part of a lake or a river is the water is fresh so when you get out rinsing off is not necessary like it is with ocean water. This is a great alternative if a beach is out of your reach.

National Parks

You may not know it but a national parks are everywhere around America. They are great for camping and exploring the wilderness. A small fee is usually needed to enter the park with your vehicle. Hiking, horseback riding, and ATV riding are a few things that are usually offered at these parks. Depending on the size of the park, tour guides are often available to help you truly experience the beauty surrounding you. National Parks are also equipped with decent restrooms and sometimes showers. There’s nothing like learning how to pitch a tent and roasting marshmallows under the blanket of stars at night.

Don’t let your procrastination spoil your 4th of July. Try out these inexpensive destinations and become the hero in your family once again!
