Account setup comes with a fee and each package is limited by a "download threshold," the maximum amount of files you can download in a 30-day billing period. The "Value" package has speeds up to 512 Kbps and a download threshold of 7,500 MB. The "Select package has speeds up to 1.0 Mbps and a download threshold of 12,000 MB. The "Pro" package has speeds up to 1.5 Mbps and a download threshold of 17,000 MB. This package is recommended for families and professionals with multiple computers using the same connection.
Comparison
The prices for Qwest or Wild Blue differ depending on current specials and packages selected. Some residents won't have the choice to go with Qwest because of its limited service area. Wild Blue's coverage area may be greater.
Bundles
Qwest offers packages that bundle Internet with home-phone service for a discount on Internet. With these deals, both services are paid for in a single monthly bill. Qwest also offers free activation when bundling services. The normal activation speed was not listed on Qwest's Web site.
