According to the article Does HDTV Matter Yet?, analyst Doug Shapiro of Bank of America Securities has found that consumers have not fully embraced subscription HD packages, with only 25 to 50 percent of homes with HD-compatible sets subscribing to a high definition package with their cable or satellite company. Research like this is important for cable and satellite providers to be aware of, since both are trying to beat the other out in the HD wars.
