Making use of Lifeline to help lower phone costs

« Gift Card Offer from Verizon | Main | EchoStar profits down due to TiVo suit »

As I mentioned in a post Lifeline can help out low-income families on Tuesday, the government has set up programs to help low-income families afford quality phone service. However, an article written last week, several of the families who qualify for the program do not make use of it. According to the article Low-income families can get phone bill aid through federal program, "only one in nine eligible Florida households take advantage of the discounts, according to the study by the University of Florida Public Utility Research Center. Hundreds of thousands in South Florida who qualify for the program never apply for it." If you believe you might qualify for the program, you should go to the Web site for Lifeline Support to find out more information.
