Going off to college can sometimes be overwhelming. You have a full time school schedules, homework, social engagements, work and extra curricular activities to take up most of your day. Somewhere along the way you have to squeeze in studying in order to pass your tests. Below are some tips to help you make the most of your study time.
- Study in Groups — You are less likely to bail on study time if others are depending on you to be there. Plus this way your study buddies can provide you with notes and ideas you might not otherwise have thought of. Best of all you can take turns keeping the group awake
- Coffee — Make lots and lots of coffee to keep you going
- Nutrition — Eat something nutritious but not too filling before hand and have snacks available to munch on
- Place to Study — Find a quiet place that is also not distracting
- How to Study — Study in 20-50 minute time periods followed by a brief break of 5-10 minutes
- Items You'll Need — Highlighters, different colored pens, your notes, paper, Post It Notes, index cards and text books
- Flash Cards — It worked in grade school and it'll work now
- Acronyms — A trick used to remember facts
- Jingles — Sounds corny but you'll thank me later. Sometimes making up a short jingle to remember long facts will help you during those blank moments during the test.
- Rest — You'll need to be well rested before you study
