Charter and AT&T; are both telecommunications services that offer telephone, television and Internet services to their customers across the United States. AT&T; also offers wireless phone services and fiber optic connections for Internet, telephone and television. Both companies also offer savings through bundling more than one of their services.
Television
Television packages through Charter can include more than 1,000 high definition channels, 8,000 television shows and movies available anytime with on demand and the option of adding premium channels. AT&T; offers television service through Direct TV. Packages include more than 210 channels with the option to add DVR service, premium channels and high definition channels.
Internet
Charter offers cable Internet at five speeds. The Lite speed downloads at up to 1 Mbps. The Express Internet has speeds of up to 12 Mbps and the Plus package has download speeds of up to 18 Mbps. The fastest speeds are Max and Ultra60, which have download speeds of 25 Mbps and 60 Mbps, respectively. AT&T; offers Internet services via DSL at four different speeds. The Basic package has download speeds of up to 768 kilobytes per second. The Express package includes download speeds of up to 1.5 Mbps, while the Pro package has speeds of up to 3 Mbps. The fastest speed, Elite, can download at 6 Mbps.
Phone
Charter telephone services include unlimited local calling with the option of adding unlimited long distance. All Charter phone packages include 10 popular features including call waiting, voicemail and caller ID at no extra cost. AT&T; has three local calling packages that include unlimited local calling. Customers can also choose to add either two calling features or all calling features. Customers can also choose to add a long distance package to their plan.
Other AT&T; Services
AT&T; also offers wireless telephone services with individual, family, data and prepaid plans. In select areas, AT&T; also offers U-Verse, a fiber optic network that improves television, Internet and telephone services. Each service uses your Internet connection to improve the speed and clarity of the picture and/or sound.
Bundles
Charter customers can choose to bundle two or three services to save money. The two-service bundles include basic television with Express Internet, Express Internet with unlimited nationwide calling or digital television with Express Internet. The three-service bundles include unlimited nationwide calling and either basic, HD or digital television with either Express or Lite Internet. AT&T; double bundles include unlimited local calling or unlimited local and long distance calling with either Basic or Express Internet. The triple bundles include local and long distance calling, Express or Elite Internet and either television service with a DVR or wireless service with 450 minutes a month.
