Comcast Triple Play: How It Works

Comcast's Xfinity TV lets you watch hundreds of programs and feature films. It includes On Demand service, which allows you to watch previously aired shows on your schedule. Premium channel subscribers can also watch On Demand programming on the Internet as part of Xfinity TV's "On-the-go" service. Other features include high-definition viewing and a selection of programs in 3D. Xfinity TV also offers a digital video recorder (DVR) service that lets you record as many as 90 hours of shows and pause live television.

Xfinity Internet offers you a number of choices in high-speed online access and includes the Constant Guard security and protection system. Constant Guard features Norton Security Suite, which protects your computer from viruses, Secure Backup and Share, which automatically backs up your files, and Identity Guard, which safeguards your computer from identity thieves. Xfinity Internet's SmartZone Communications Center lets you control your voicemail, email and a Universal Address book from one site that is accessible on any computer. SmartZone gives you seven email accounts with 10 GB of storage each. Xfinity Internet also provides downstream speeds of as many as 15 Mbps.

Xfinity Voice offers unlimited calls throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada and has features such as caller ID that displays incoming calls on your television and computer, voicemail, call waiting, call screening, speed dial and 3-way calling. Xfinity Voice's technology allows you to check voicemail from your smartphone or your computer, and provides email alerts when you receive a voicemail.You can also select from international plans that let you place calls to more than 200 countries throughout the world.

As of June 2011 you can select from among several Triple Play packages, including Starter XF, HD Preferred XF, HD Preferred Plus XF and HD Premier XF. The Starter XF package includes 80 digital cable channels, the HD Preferred XF package features 160 cable channels including Starz, the HD Preferred Plus XF package has 170 cable channels including Starz and HBO and upgrades the Internet service from high-speed to fast high-speed, and the HD Premier XF package offers 200 cable channels including Starz, HBO, Cinemax and Showtime.
