Connecting to Comcast Modems
Accessing Comcast's Internet service is accomplished by connecting to a modem. A modem, short for modulator/demodulator, connects a computer to the Internet by using a phone line to transmit data. If a computer can't connect to a modem, it won't connect to the Internet. Comcast's Internet service is automatically detected by a properly installed modem. Be sure to use a modem compatible with Comcast's services or you won't be able to connect to the Internet.
