With the emergence of digital television, cable, digital and satellite signals have become the major options for transferring video and audio to your home television set. If you still use an antenna to intercept air signals, you will need a coaxial cable connecting the antenna to your cable box or television. If your signal must run through a cable box, you will need an additional HDMI cable to transfer the image and audio feeds from the cable box to the television set.
Step 1
Insert the female end of the coaxial cable into the "Coaxial OUT" port of the antenna. The female end of the coaxial cable will have holes where the pins can insert. If your coaxial cable is male-to-male, you will have to purchase a male-to-female adapter from your local electronic components store or online electronics retailer.
Step 2
Plug the male end of the coaxial cable into the "Coaxial IN" port on your antenna's receiver box.The male end of the coaxial cable will have metal pins that insert into the port of the receiver box.
Step 3
Connect a video component cable or HDMI cable from your antenna's receiver box to your television set. Since both ends of the HDMI and video component cables are similar, you will simply need to connect one end of the cable into the "HDMI OUT" or "Video OUT" port in the receiver box and the other end of the cable into the "HDMI IN" or Video IN" port on the television set.
