How to Install a Home Alarm Window Sensor

A window is a common way for a burglar to gain entry into a home. So when installing an alarm system, be sure to include sensors to protect your windows. Each window sensor connects to a central security control panel in the house. A window sensor usually consists of two parts, one piece attaches to the window sash and the other piece attaches to the frame. When the window is opened, the electromagnetic connection between these parts is broken, and the sensor sends an alert to the control panel, which in turn triggers an audible alarm, and also may contact an outside monitoring agency, if so designed.
