AT&T; offers a variety of services including phone, TV and Internet. It offers its own U-verse package for many areas across the United States as well as DSL Internet for other non-serviced areas. Other subsidiaries, such as Bellsouth, control their own Internet services. Regardless of the type of Internet connection you have, AT&T; reserves the right to suspend your account for non-payment. The only way to restore your account is to call and set up a payment. AT&T; requires all late bills to be paid in full as well as a fee to restore services.
Step 1
Call AT for AT&T; Dial Internet call 866-722-3435. Bellsouth customers can reach customer support at 800-436-8638.
Step 2
Follow the keypad prompts to specify your type of Internet account. Request to speak to a representative or navigate to the billing department. Once you're routed to the right customer service representative, tell him that you've been disconnected and wish to restore your account.
Step 3
Give the representative your account number, which can be found on your AT&T; monthly bill. You'll also need to give the last four digits of your Social Security number and answer security questions to authenticate your identity.
Step 4
Set up a payment plan to pay the full amount past due on your account. Your Internet service can't be reconnected until you settle all delinquent payments. You also have to pay a reconnect fee. As of June 2011, AT&T; charges $35 for a reconnect. Once this has been settled, the customer service representative will set up your account for a reconnection.
