Broadband DSL service from NetZero provides access to the Internet at speeds as much as 100 times faster than dial-up service. Included with NetZero DSL service is Norton Antivirus Online computer protection, email service with spam and virus protection, popup blocker and a 30-day money back guarantee for unsatisfied customers. Although NetZero DSL uses telephone lines, the service does not interfere with home phone service. Setting up DSL with NetZero is a simple process.
Step 1
Enter your home phone number on the registration website from NetZero to determine whether NetZero DSL is available in your location. A mobile phone number will not work properly for this step.
Step 2
Select a NetZero DSL package. There are different options of DSL service plans, ranging in download speed and price. Order the service through the NetZero website by following the prompts on the screen.
Step 3
Wait for NetZero to configure your phone line for your DSL service. This may take up to one week. NetZero will send you a Broadband Installation kit, which you should receive in roughly one week. You can track the status of your DSL order online through NetZero's website.
Step 4
Check your Service Ready Date. Log into your account on the NetZero website and you will be able to see your estimated Service Ready Date. This is the date your DSL service should work, so wait until this date to install the service.
Step 5
Set up your DSL service by using the Installation Kit sent to you by NetZero. Start with the NetZero Connection Center software on CD. Follow all of the instructions provided in the kit to properly install your DSL modem, Ethernet cable, DSL modem power cord and phone jack filters.
Step 6
Verify your activation once the kit is installed. To verify, log into your NetZero account; you will see a notification of activation there if activation has happened.
