Both Internet packages offered by Verizon come with nine email accounts and 10 MB of personal web space. Verizon also offers Internet support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Verizon broadband Internet uses Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) technology. DSL works through the same line that brings in home phone service; customers can connect a wireless router to the phone jack via a modem. The modem connects the home to the optical fiber link at Verizon's central office, from which broadband data is sent and received.

When you order a Verizon Internet package, you will receive a router to connect your wireless network. Your computer needs a wireless network adapter to connect to the router. The package that costs $24.99 includes a wireless router free of charge and download speed at 0.5 to 1 Mbps. The package that costs $39.99 per month has faster download speeds and includes a free router. Broadband Internet is cheaper with a two-year agreement and a bundle of phone service and DirecTV.
