How to Check for Comcast High-Speed Available in Our Area at a Cheap Price

Choosing a broadband ISP can be a challenging task. With such a variety of plans on the market, it's important to match your needs against the available offers. Even finding which companies provide services for your location can sometimes be difficult. Fortunately, most larger ISPs have automated, Web-based systems for determining availability. If you're hunting for deals on Comcast Internet service, then the company website is the place to begin. A public library or coffee shop will usually have Internet access if your home isn't currently connected.

Step 1

Navigate to the page comcast.com. Make sure that the page is Comcast's official site and not that of a dealer. A dealer's website will have the words "authorized dealer" next to Comcast's logo at the top of the screen.

Step 2

Hover your mouse over the "Shop" tab near the top of the screen. From the drop-down menu, click on "XFINITY Internet."

Step 3

Enter your exact street address and zip code into the boxes provided under "New Customers." Press the "Continue" button. The next page will tell you whether Comcast is available at your address and what specials are being offered. If service is unavailable, the page will say "Sorry" in big letters.

Step 4

Browse any available offers. Check the fine print, such as terms and conditions that apply to current offers.

Tips & Warnings

  • If Internet is completely unavailable, call 800-266-2278 to get in touch with customer care. A representative can tell you whether your address qualifies for service and any special deals. Bundling services can sometimes be valuable, but only if you actually use all of the services. In other words, don't add discounted cable service if you never watch television. Your community's chamber of commerce should have information on which Internet Service Providers do business in the area. The chamber is especially helpful for learning about small-market ISPs that don't have the same visibility as major corporations like Comcast.
