Compare AT&T Vs. Time Warner

AT&T; and Time Warner offer cable TV and Internet service for residential and business customers. Each service provider lists several service features and bundling packages to fit the needs of potential subscribers. Compare the services and price to determine which provider offers the best value for your needs.

Cable TV

AT&T; U-verse and Time Warner offer cable TV programming that includes basic and premium channel lineups. You can choose to subscribe to high-definition content packages with each service provider and opt for a digital DVV service with DVR convertor set-top box. AT&T;'s DVR is capable of recording up to four channels at one time while Time Warner's DVR is limited to two shows. On-screen widgets are also available through AT&T.; With U-verse you can program sports, stocks and weather applications and access real-time information in each widget on-screen.

Internet

Both Internet service providers offer a selection Internet service speeds and other features. AT&T; has three options: Pro, Elite and Max Internet service. The range of upload speeds for each service starts at 3 Mbps for Pro, up to 12 Mbps for Max. Time Warner uses three different and independent Internet service providers: Road Runner, Earthlink and WCOIL. Within each service provider, you can choose the speed and other features to satisfy you Internet demands. Included features include multiple email accounts and technical support packages.

Phone Service

AT&T; customers can choose among five home phone packages, each with different features and included services. Services range from a limited allowance of local calling to a two-line package with unlimited local and long distance calling. Other features include three-way calling, caller-ID, call waiting and call forwarding. Time Warner offers similar plans for home phone service with an additional option of having the caller ID information displayed on the TV screen. Time Warner and AT&T; both offer visual voice mail, a service that allows you to choose which messages you would like to hear on a PC without navigating through all messages.

Bundling Options

Bundling two or more services together saves money versus subscribing to the individual services independently. Both providers offer several options to combine phone and Internet, cable TV and Internet, or cable TV and phone service. AT&T; also offers bundling packages that include mobile phone service.
