How to Connect Computers to AT&T U-Verse

by Jim Campbell, Demand Media

AT&T; Uverse includes a wireless router you use to connect computers to the home network. You use the Windows wireless connection wizard to connect to the router. When you have Uverse installed by the AT&T; technician, he provides you with the router network identification and the password, which you need to connect to the AT&T; router.

Step 1

Log in to the Windows desktop after it boots. The wireless connection icon in the system tray displays a message that a network connection could not be made.

Step 2

Click the wireless icon that displays the error message. A popup window opens with a list of available networks. Find the network ID of the AT&T; Uverse router provided by the installation technician.

Step 3

Click the network ID for AT&T; Uverse. Type the password configured and provided by the installation technician in the displayed text box.

Step 4

Click "Connect" to connect to the router. The wireless system tray link displays a "Connected" icon to indicate that you are successfully connected to the Uverse network.
