AT&T;'s DSL high-speed Internet lets you choose among four downstream speeds to surf the Internet.

AT&T; is a communications company that provides digital TV, Internet, home phone and mobile phone services. It also offers U-verse, an entertainment service that receives as many as 410 TV channels and lets you watch four recorded shows at the same time. The DSL high-speed Internet offers plans for both AT&T; home phone customers as well as new customers who just want to surf the Internet using the company's service.
Step 1
Visit the AT&T; (att.com) website. At the top of the page, shift your cursor over "Shop," which will generate a menu. Drag your cursor over to "Internet," and click "DSL High Speed Internet" under "Plans."
Step 2
Review the DSL monthly plans to see which one best meets your needs. As of June 2011, there are four plans: DSL Basic, DSL Express, DSL Pro and DSL Elite, which offers the fastest downstream speed.
Step 3
Click "Continue" in the blue box that corresponds to the plan you want. Enter your home phone number and click "Check Availability."
Step 4
Click "Add to Cart" next to the DSL high-speed Internet plan that you want. Click on the DSL equipment that you want. Selections include "DSL modem," "AT&T; wireless Gateway," or "No equipment, I will provide my own." Click "Continue."
Step 5
Click either "ConnecTech Home Network Installation," or "No thanks, I don't need installation." Click "Continue."
Step 6
Review your shopping cart and click "Begin Checkout." Verify your account by using your current home phone number and customer code if you're an AT&T; customer or creating a new user ID and password if you're not a regular customer. Click "Verify My Account."
Step 7
Provide a phone number, alternate phone number, email address and payment type. Click "Continue." Click your activation date and review the shipping and handling information if you elected to receive equipment. Click "Continue."
Step 8
Review your order and click "Submit Order" to complete your signup.
Tips & Warnings
- You can also sign up for high-speed Internet without home phone service on AT&T;'s website.
- AT&T; DSL high-speed Internet may not have service in all locations.
