In this role you will be responsible for extending our existing applications and to work on the next generation of the platform. This includes everything from participating in the requirements gathering process, to designing and building the final solutions.
Responsibilities
- Designing and Architecting advanced new features and applications
- Writing Java code leveraging the Spring application framework
- Full cycle application development, testing, and deployment
Required Experience
- Four-year college degree in computer science or a related field
- Experience with database development – ER Modeling, transactions, SQL (Oracle, MySQL)
- 4+ years of commercial server-side Java software development experience
- 4+ years experience with Apache Tomcat or similar web application servers
- 4+ years of Javascript, AJAX, CSS, JSON, XML and web services
- 2+ years source code management with Subversion or Git, and development using the Eclipse IDE
- Ability to learn and adapt to emerging technologies at a rapid pace
- Ability to effectively interface with and influence personnel at all levels
- Ability to work in a distributed environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must have a commitment to see projects to delivery, including periods of extended hours
- Familiarity with JUnit
Additional Desired Experience
- Graduate-level academic experience in computer science or technical field
- Experience with consumer web marketing, tracking and analytics, and search
- Experience with Hibernate or Apple WebObjects/EOF
- Linux hands-on, including shell scripting
- Involvement with open source web applications and technologies (forums, blogs, etc)
