Users looking to transition from dial-up to broadband Internet have many choices to make, including the type of broadband they would like to use and the service provider they will select. Juno DSL broadband is one option well suited to those who are not interested in the complicated or technical, providing high-speed Internet with a selection of features that make set-up user-friendly and simple.
Broadband Internet
Broadband Internet service, as distinct from traditional dial-up Internet service, is simply another term for high-speed, digital Internet (Internet service whereby information is transmitted as "bits" of data). There are many types of broadband Internet available, including DSL, cable Internet, wireless Internet, satellite Internet, fiber-optic Internet and, even in some places, Internet delivered via power lines.
DSL Internet
DSL Internet, or digital subscriber line Internet, is one of the most popular and commonly used forms of Internet service. DSL delivers Internet service over existing copper telephone wires. It does so digitally, however, unlike traditional dial-up service. DSL is thus able to provide much faster downloading and uploading speeds. In some cases, DSL service can operate up to 100 times faster than dial-up access.
Juno DSL
Juno is a company that provides a number of utility and entertainment services, including both dial-up and broadband Internet. Juno DSL broadband operates using a modem connected to your existing phone line (although use of Juno DSL, like other DSL services, does not tie up your phone line).
Juno DSL Features
In addition to Internet access, Juno DSL service comes with other features. Every Juno DSL subscriber is given an email account. There are several security features included, including antivirus software, a pop-up blocker, a firewall, and a spam filter and virus protection for the user's Juno email account. Juno DSL also comes with support features, including 24/7 technical support and a back-up dial-up account in case of service problems or outages.
