WhiteFence, one of the fastest-growing companies in Houston, currently has an exciting opportunity for motivated individual to join our fast-paced company as the VP - Product Development. In this role you will report directly to the CEO.
The VP- Product Development will be responsible for leading the development of all new applications, features and technologies from inception to launch. The ideal candidate must have a broad understanding of e-commerce technologies and solutions. This person will work closely with customers, marketing, operations and technology to ensure all business needs are satisfied.
Responsibilites
- Manage the implementation of new internet/e-commerce products and coordinating launch plans.
- Research new products, product enhancements and product redesign to meet the goals of the organization.
- Work with senior management to ensure plans are integrated with broader corporate and/or functional strategies, budgets, schedules and plans.
- Work with the Marketing team to develop strategies and to formulate annual company marketing plans and budgets for new products.
- Lead a cross-functional team to identify, qualify, develop and market new product initiatives.
- Plan and conduct usability evaluations, usability tests and focus groups.
- Oversee development of test plans to ensure quality deliverables/work products.
- Perform market research and analysis of competitive products and services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Information Systems, Marketing, related field, or equivalent experience (Master’s degree preferred)
- 5+ years of recent experience in a Product Development role
- 5+ years experience in business analysis or systems analysis
- 5+ years in a leadership role, including people management responsibilities
- Proven experience developing complex online applications/tools or e-commerce technologies
- Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Expertise in the following areas: interactive marketing, web design, web applications, user experience, information architecture, software development
- Excellent Project Management and Leadership skills are essential
- Effectively manage multiple projects against aggressive deadlines
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
