AT&T Home Phone Help

Troubleshooting problems with your AT&T; home phone service doesn't have to be a stressful adventure. Whether the phone audio is muffled or doesn't work at all, AT&T; can find an answer. Solutions to common problems are found using AT&T;'s Solution Finder, which is database of frequently asked questions, or by using U-verse Repair, an online diagnostic check for your home phone line. Use the tools provided by AT&T; to find answers to questions you have about your home phone service.

How-To Support

AT&T; features a collection of how-to instructions to guide customers in the right direction. The how-to instructions address common features such as voicemail functions, caller ID, call waiting, call screening, call forwarding, call blocking, repeat dialing, three-way calling and more. The how-to section is divided into categories for simple navigation. Click on the category under which your problem falls to view a detailed list of instructions for various issues.

Solution Finder

The Solution Finder is where to go when you are looking for the answer to a specific question in regards to your AT each answer provides information on how to troubleshoot and solve the problem at hand.

U-verse Repair

U-verse repair is a service that runs a diagnostic check on your U-verse voice system. It is online-based and requires no installation. The repair tool checks for errors in your phone line and determines whether the problem is a technical glitch or a physical mistake. If it is a technical glitch, such as a software or Gateway malfunction, U-verse repair automatically attempts to fix the problem. If the problem is physical, such as a disconnected phone line, or if U-verse repair can't automatically fix the error, you will need to schedule a service call. Only U-verse customers may use the U-verse repair tool. Have your account information ready.

Service Call

When you have exhausted all other avenues, schedule a service call. Call AT&T; Customer Service at (800) 288-2020 and make an appointment to have a service technician come to your house and repair the problem with your phone service. Depending on the type of repair, service calls may cost a fee.
