Step 3
Move into an apartment or condominium complex that includes Time Warner Cable as part of the rent or condo fees. Buildings that offer this service generally offer basic programming free of charge. For more advanced programming, such as digital or premium channels, you would pay an additional fee.
Step 4
Call Time Warner Cable customer service and request a credit. This process works only if you have experienced an outage or loss of service where Time Warner Cable is at fault. When you call the customer service line, the company will verify that you have experienced an outage and credit your account for the time lost. Your cable would only be free for the amount of time it wasn't working.
Tips & Warnings
- If you move into a residence that already has cable, such as a house where the previous owner had cable and did not disconnect the service, do not use this service without opening your own Time Warner Cable account. Doing so is considered theft and is illegal.
- If you find that the cable service is still active, contact Time Warner immediately.
