Using one provider for all your communications utilities also means consolidating your bills and dealing with only one customer service line.

Several companies offer discounts to customers who choose to use one provider for cable, Internet, and home phone. Though there are potential savings for even using two out of the three, such as cable and Internet, the largest discounts generally go to those who sign up for all three. Contact providers to see if their service is available in your area; some, like Verizon FiOS, are limited to certain regions.

Comcast Triple Play

The Comcast bundle, called the Triple Play begins at $99/month for new customers. It includes unlimited nationwide calling and more than 80 cable channels, including a service called On Demand which allows you to search for specific programs, save, pause and rewind. The Internet speed is not advertised, but Comcast's high speed Internet is 15 Mbps. After the first year, the price increases to $129.99 per month. For a $20 to $50 increase, you can add HD and movie channels, and increase your Internet speed. They also include a pre-paid Visa card as an incentive to sign.

Verizon FiOS Triple Play

Verizon's FiOS Triple Play starts at $84.99 per month and also increases in price after the first year. There is no contract required. The service includes FiOS TV Prime HD, Internet up to 15 Mbps, and unlimited local and regional calling with free installation. For booking online, you receive a monthly discount, a free wireless router and waived activation fees. The $99.99/month plan has the same extras, plus "Extreme" HD and 25/25 Mbps Internet connections. Verizon also offers a create-your-own bundle option, in which you can adjust the specs of each utility depending on your needs.

Qwest Bundles

Qwest offers the option of including Verizon Wireless service in your bundle. The basic Triple Savings bundle is billed at $89.95/month for the first year and requires a two-year contract. That subscription includes HeavyDuty Internet, up to 1.5 Mbps, more than 200 channels through DirecTV, and unlimited home phone calling. There is an additional monthly modem fee. If you replace the home phone with Verizon Wireless basic service, the price increases to $94.93.

The Charter Bundle

The Charter Bundle starts at $69.97 for the first year. It includes more than 100 channels of digital TV with On Demand, including music channels, Internet at speeds up to 12 Mbps and unlimited calling, including voice mail, caller ID and call waiting. Internet includes free virus protection. Charter service is available in most states, but price may vary due to location or services needed.
