With coverage in 28 states, Verizon offers multiple home phone packages with many features to suit your needs. Subscribers can choose from either a FiOS Digital Voice plan or a standard calling plan.

What are the Standard Plans?

Verizon's Standard Calling plans offer no-frills home phone service at an affordable price and will work over your home's existing telephone lines. Two plans available are available, the Verizon Freedom Value plan and the Verizon Freedom Essentials plan. The Essentials plan differs from the Value plan in that it also includes voicemail, caller ID, call forwarding, call waiting and three-way calling. No matter which plan you choose, they both include unlimited local and regional calling, as well as unlimited long distance calls anywhere within the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. As of the time of publication, the Freedom Value plan costs $47.99 per month and the Freedom Essentials plan costs $49.99 per month. Both plans are set at a fixed monthly rate.

If you are not interested in a bundle, the digital voice service is available individually. Two types of plans are available: an unlimited minutes plan and a by-the-minute plan. As of the time of publication, the unlimited minutes Digital Voice plan is $44.95 per month, while the by-the-minute plan is $14.99 per month and 5 cents per minute used.
