Time Warner Cable is a cable company that many people use as their television, phone and Internet provider. Time Warner Cable, or TWC for short, offers high-speed cable Internet that can connect directly to your computer. If you are using a laptop or have multiple devices that need to connect to the Internet, a wireless router is a great way to share your TWC Internet.
Step 1
Plug the wireless router's power cable into a wall socket that is close by to the TWC cable modem. Keep the wireless router off the ground to send out the strongest signal.
Step 2
Connect the Ethernet into the back of the TWC cable modem. The back of the modem only has one one Ethernet connection, so it is tough to miss.
Step 3
Insert the other end into the main Ethernet input on the wireless router. This is called the "WAN Port" and is what collects the Internet using the Ethernet cable from the modem and sends it out through its antennas.
Step 4
Allow the modem and router to pair for roughly five minutes. Turn on your computer or other Wi-fi enabled device and search for the Internet broadcast. Select the connection with the name of the router you have installed. For instance, select the "Cisco" connection for Cisco routers and "NGR" for Netgear routers. The device connects to the Internet using the Wi-Fi broadcast of the router.
