How to Set up Voice Mail on Cox Business Phones

Step 1

Set up your voice mail from the Cox telephone line. You must also turn off your caller ID by dialing *82 before you begin.

Step 2

Dial into your Cox Voice Mailbox Access number for your area. If you do not have the access number you can find it on the voice mail instructions provided by Cox.

Step 3

Dial 269266 (COXCOM) when prompted to enter your password. From here, you will be guided through set up by a voice automated system.

Step 4

Set up a new password for your account when prompted. When setting up your password you cannot use repetitive numbers, sequential numbers or the last digits of your phone number. This completes the initial set up.

Step 5

Record your greetings by dialing into your voice mail line and pressing "2". This will bring you to the "Greetings" menu. You can access your voice mail from work by dialing your 10-digit phone number. Access voice mail from outside of the office by calling into your number and pressing "*" when your greeting starts.

Step 6

Choose features you would like to use by pressing "4" from the main menu. This is the "Personal Options" selection. You can choose your preferences such as message notifications, group lists and personal preferences.
