Cox Cable TV Channel Lineup & Information

The bare minimum of Cox's available television packages, Cox's Limited Service channel lineup includes up to 35 channels consisting of local, educational, shopping and sports channels. Cox channel lineups will always include these channels. Local channels typically comprise the lowest-number channels available to Cox subscribers. Local channels may include university stations, local news and weather, local arts channels, or other locally-broadcasted segments of major stations, such as CBS, NBC, PBS, FOX, ABC and UPN; Animal Planet, Univision, C-SPAN and Untamed Sports are also usually included.

Cox's Expanded Cable offerings are the level above limited service, and usually include 41 additional channels. These channels include more general sports, entertainment and educational channels. Bravo, the Travel Channel, TV Land, MTV, ESPN and Lifetime are all examples of channels usually included in the expanded cable package channel lineup. Depending on your area, these channels may be numerically located between channels offered in the limited package lineup.

The Digital Cable lineup typically includes 16 additional shopping, sports and educational channels, but also unlocks 51 channels which play music categorized by genre. Digital cable packages also unlock On Demand and Pay-Per-View content. Six interactive channels are also introduced, offering news, sports, weather, service support, and kid-friendly games. Many of these channels are also available in High Definition.

Cox's Digital Deluxe package usually offers 13 specialized movie channels divided by genre (such as Drama, Comedy, Western, and Mystery), as well as an expanded sports and informational tier numbering 22 channels. There are an additional 25 variety entertainment channels, including fare such as Fuse, Nicktoons, BBC America and Fine Living. These channels fall sequentially above all of the Expanded Cable channels and some of the Digital Cable channels.

There are still more channels available to Cox customers at an additional charge, including HBO, Cinemax, Showtime and STARZ channels. Depending on your location, some channels may be available in Spanish.
