How to Upgrade Your Cox Internet

As one of the nation's largest broadband and cable companies, Cox Communications provides customers with a variety of telephone, cable and Internet services. You can purchase one of its services or a bundle of services. For Internet customers, Cox offers a variety of Internet packages. Customers can choose packages based on usage, speed and pricing. Depending on how you use the Internet, Cox has a packages suited for just "email checkers" to people who stream movies and games on their computers. After choosing your package, you can easily upgrade from your own living room.

Step 1

Obtain your Cox Communications billing statement, and review your current Internet package.

Step 2

Visit the Cox Communications website. Click on "Sign In" located at the top of the page.

Step 3

Enter your User ID and password. Click on "Sign Me In." If you do not have an account, click on "No Account? Register Now" and register. To register, you need your Cox account number from the billing statement and the last four digits of your Social Security number.

Step 4

Select "My Connection" from the middle toolbar. Click "My Account," and select "Add or Update Services" under "Services." Wait for a new box to open.

Step 5

Check the "Internet" box, and select "Show Bundles."

Step 6

Review your available options under Internet upgrades.

Step 7

Select your new Internet package and click "Order Now." Click "Yes" to confirm that you want to change your Internet package. You will receive an email and a letter in the mail notifying you of the change.

  • Call your local Cox Communications customer services center if you want to upgrade your Internet Service by phone. Locate your customer services center number on your billing statement or visit the Cox Communication website.
