Does Qwest Offer a Mobile Wireless Service?

by Si Kingston, Demand Media

Qwest offers a variety of consumer services including Internet, home phone and DirecTV. Qwest also offers wireless phone service to its customers through Verizon Wireless. Verizon Wireless is responsible for providing Qwest customers with service and support for their wireless phone, but Qwest will allow you to combine your Verizon Wireless bill with your Qwest residential phone and satellite television bill. You can also save money by bundling all of these services together.

Step 1

Go to Qwest's (qwest.com) homepage and highlight the "Residential" option at the top of the page.

Step 2

Click "Wireless Phone" under "Phones & More" in the expanded menu. You're redirected to Qwest's wireless service powered by Verizon Wireless.

Step 3

Click "Learn More" to be redirected to Verizon's Qwest landing page.

Step 4

Click "Shop Now." Click either the individual or family plan, and enter your current zip code in the corresponding field. Click "OK." If Verizon service through Qwest is available in your area, a page with phone and plan options displays.

Step 5

Click the phone you want to purchase. All phones with a list of their features, price and contract requirements are listed.

Step 6

Click a plan. Nationwide Talk, Nationwide Talk & Text, and the Nationwide with Canada plans are available to Qwest customers.

Step 7

Click the number of minutes. You have a choice between 450, 900 and unlimited anytime minutes.

Step 8

Click the contract term. You can select a month-to-month contract, or a two-year contract. Agree to the terms and conditions, and click "Continue."

Step 9

Add any additional features such as insurance, extended warranty, total equipment coverage, VZ Navigator or ringback tones. Click "Continue." Then add any accessories such as a car charger, and click "Continue."

Step 10

Review your order, read the customer service agreement, enter your personal information, and credit or debit card to pay for the order. Then confirm the order. The phone will be sent to you in the mail, and your billing cycle won't start until the phone is activated. Activation instructions will come with the phone in the mail.

Tips & Warnings

  • New and current customers can save money by bundling wireless service with home phone or Internet. To bundle, select "Bundling" on the Qwest home page. Choose the services to bundle, enter your address or current account phone number and click "Shop." Then select your plans for wireless service and any other additional services.
