Qwest Won't Load

by Charles Poole, Demand Media

The Qwest communications company offers Internet to residential customers. If you are having problems connecting to your Qwest Internet service, there are a few things that you can do to get connected. Checking the cable connections, the wireless password information or computer configurations are the best bets to troubleshooting your connectivity. Resetting your wireless router or modem can also allow you to reconnect to the Internet. You don't have to be a computer expert to get your Qwest service working again. You can do it yourself.

Checking Cables

Go to your router and cable modem and make sure the cords going to your cable modem are connected securely. Check the cords for any tears or frays. Replace the cords if needed.

Restart Your Computer

Restart your computer to reset the Internet connection on the computer. Click the "Start" button, and then click the "Restart" button. Wait for the computer to restart, and then try to access the Internet again.

Restart Your Modem And Router

Restart your modem and the wireless router by unplugging it from the wall. Wait for five seconds before plugging the router and the modem back into the wall. Wait for the devices to initialize.

Checking Internet Settings

Double-click on your Web browser to bring up an Internet window. Type "192.168.0.1" into the URL bar, and then press the "Enter' button. This will open the Internet settings. Make sure that the network key and the network name match from the information on the base station.
