Road Runner is the broadband online service provided by Time Warner Cable and its subsidiaries and affiliates. Road Runner brings the Internet into your home through a high-speed cable modem that is three times faster than standard DSL. Road Runner comes with Internet securities and parental controls and can be bundled with your cable television service and digital home phone.

Verizon offers several options for connecting to the Internet. Verizon's FiOS delivers the Internet through fiber optics. Verizon also offers DSL through a phone line; however, you do not have to have phone service to receive DSL Internet service. Internet service through Verizon can be bundled with television and phone service.

Both Road Runner and Verizon FiOS require a trained technician for installation. The technician determines which, if any, cables need to be installed and then installs the necessary modems and/or routers. Verizon DSL is self-installed by the homeowner with phone line, cables, modem and router being supplied by Verizon and delivered in the mail.
